G’bad: Street vendors encroaching on roadsides in Vasundhara not under purview of police, says Jansunwai reply

The SI of a police outpost in Vasundhara under Indirapuram PS has submitted a reply on IGRS portal stating that Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam has to take action against various street vendors who are encroaching on roadsides

Encroachment by vendors in Vasundhara Sec 16 resulting in traffic bottlenecks

The local Chowki Incharge of an outpost in Vasundhara—under Indirapuram police station supposes that removing encroachers—in this case numerous street vendors who have captured the roadsides, are not within the purview of police duty, according to his reply on the online IGRS portal.

A complaint on the Jansunwai portal with complaint no 40014020033731 (online complaint portal of UP Govt.) was made by this journalist about street vendors having taken over the roadsides resulting in traffic jams in Vasundhara Sectors 15, 16 and 17. However, in his reply the SI of Prahladgarhi outpost has stated that the action has to be taken by the Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam (GNN). He has submitted his reply to the SSP and it has been uploaded on the Jansunwai portal also. In other words the SI has put the onus of removing the street side encroachers solely on the Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam.
