On October 4, a case FIR No. 815/20 U/s 392/397/34 IPC was registered on the statement of Kishore Chanda. He reported that he has an auto-spare parts shop in the area of Mangol Puri police station and on same day, when he alongwith his nephew and three workers were present in the shop, 4 unknown persons entered in his shop with firearms and on gun point they robbed Rs. 2.4 lakhs from them. The robbers also fired in the air to threaten and intimidated them and fled away with the booty. The staff of Mangol Puri police station reached the spot and inspected the scene of crime and investigation was taken up.
During course of investigation, a dedicated team headed by Mukesh Kumar SHO/Mangol Puri comprising Inspector Devender Singh, HC Manoj, Ct. Naveen, Ct. Sunil, Ct. Sunil Kumar, Ct. Naveen Kumar and Ct. Manoj was constituted under the close supervision of Virender Kadyan (ACP/ Mangol Puri). The team analyzed about all the CCTV cameras at different locations spread over distance of about 19 kilometers starting from the scene of crime and interrogated more than 200 auto-rickshaw & 350 e-rickshaw drivers. After continued & consistent efforts, the team apprehended all the four robbers
namely Amit alias Bhandari, Ashok alias Bholu alias Rahul, Mohit alias Afridi and Ravinder alias Baba and 3 country made pistols, 1 sophisticated factory made pistol and 16 live cartridges were recovered. On further search, the part of looted amount Rs. 1.5 lakh alongwith motor cycle used in the commission of crime was also recovered. One mobile phone, new cloths, blankets, shoes, music system and some miscellaneous grocery items, which they have purchased from the looted amount, were also seized.
During interrogation accused Amit disclosed he and his friends want to take revenge from his Hariom and Surender. For this they needed both money and arms and for this they started to commit robbery and snatching incidents. Further, they were involved in a murder and attempt to murder case also. On Oct. 4, he alongwith his associates robbed Rs.2.4 lakhs from a shop in the area of Mangol Puri. On further interrogation, it has been revealed that accused persons were carrying a reward of Rs. 25,000 each from Haryana Police in the murder case of one Surender.
During sustained interrogation of accused Amit, 3 more country made pistols along with 6 live cartridges have been recovered from their rented accommodation.
