‘GDA officials patronising illegal constructions’, says Board Member’s letter to CM

GNN Councillor Himanshu Mittal has pointed out to collusion of officials in illegal construction of flats in colonies developed and approved by Ghaziabad Development Authority

Councillor of Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam Ward No 91 & GDA Board Member has leveled allegations against senior officials of Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) for illegal constructions on Khasra No 1739 at Madhuban Bapudham colony (Village Sadarpur) developed by the Authority. The letter written to CM Yogi Adityanath states that the matter was disposed of in the High Court that had in turn asked the DM to take action against the concerned officials; however nothing has been done so far.

The land in question had been acquired previously by the state and was transferred to the GDA stated the letter and added that the DM had passed an order that the Vice Chairman of the GDA should probe the matter of illegal constructions on Khasra No 1739.

Mittal alleged that the illegal constructions were carried out in connivance with top officials of the GDA and had asked the CM to intervene in the matter.

In another allegation the letters states that at least 200 flats were illegally built at Ambuja City at Tigri Roundabout in Ghaziabad and where the electricity department has cut the power connections of these flats. A case was also filed against 11 builders it was alleged in the letter. The letter further alleges that such illegal flats could not have been built without the connivance of the GDA officials.

Another issue that was raised by Mittal si of sub-standard quality of flats built by the GDA in various colonies developed by it such as Vaishali, Shalimar Garden etc where flats have become ramshackle just after 30 years of construction.
