Municipal Commissioner, Dr Dinesh Chandra Singh today visited several areas to inspect the various tasks being undertaken by various sanitation teams of Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam (GNN). Under the Special Cleaning Drive Singh along with zonal incharges of Vasundhara and Mohan Nagar zones and City Health Officer visited these zones. Garbage lifting was being performed during the visit.
The Municipal Commissioner also visited several other GNN-administered areas. An appeal was made by him to shopkeepers not to use polythene carry bags and to follow Government of India protocols regarding Covid-19.
Further, under the cleaning drive public places like Purana Bus Adda, New Bus Adda, Kaushambi Bus Depot, Ghaziabad & Sahibabad railway stations, Metro stations, several wards among others were covered. In these places besides garbage lifting, silt-disposal from drains and anti-larvae measures were undertaken on instructions of the Municipal Commissioner. A team of senior officials was also on the ground to inspect the cleaning work.
Under the ongoing anti-polythene drive a total of 15.3 kgs of polythene was seized from street vendors and traders and a total penalty of Rs 3,000 was imposed upon them.
