G’bad: Vasundhara residents and local police chip in to plant flower saplings and medicinal plants


A team of Safai Express volunteers of Vasundhara today organised a plantation drive in Sector 17, Vasundhara, wherein flower saplings and medicinal herbs were planted along a 200 metre stretch. The police staff of Prahladgarhi Police Chowki including SI Narpal Singh—Chowki Incharge—partook in the plantation drive. The representatives of Safai Muhim, another public association, also took part.

A variety of saplings comprising rose, Gudhal, Harsingar, Mogra, Tikoma, Laila-Majnu, Jatropha, Hamelia were planted. Trees are also being planted at a distance of 20 feet while flowers are being planted at a distance of 3 feet.

The drive started at 6 am, when volunteers of Safai Express and police staff dug up 70 planting holes on which manure made of cow dung was put and plantation was done. To save the trees from stray animals a fence made up of bamboo and coconut rope was put up. 

The team of Safai Express comprised Anil Sharma, Rajender Singh Bisht, Girish Sharma, Pramod Kumar, Rishank Pandey, Sunil Joshi, Manoj Nailwal, Harish Pundhir, Adesh Sharma, Gaurav Rawat, Praveen Kuamr, Mamta Pandey, Gautam Rawat, Ramesh Dhyani, Anil Singh Negi and Surendra Bisht, while from Safai Muhim BC Lohani and Amit Kishor took part.
