GMCBL City Bus Service has been granted permission to operate in Gurugram in Public Interest and has resumed service in a phased manner from July 1, 2020. The go-ahead has come from the Deputy Commissioner, Gurugram, Amit Khatri IAS vide a letter dated July 1 to CEO GMCBL, Sonal Goel IAS. The acquiescence came looking at the difficulty of people to move from one place to another in Gurugram.
From July 2, 2020, the City Bus would be operated in a phased manner in three phases. In phase I, Gurugaman bus would be operating on six routes with a fleet of 68 buses. Route 212: Basai Chowk-HUDA City Centre (Mudrika) Route 134: Iffco Chowk to IMT Manesar Route 112D: Gurugram Bus Stand to Sec-56 (Ghata) Route 218: Gurugram Bus Stand to Sohna Route 116F: Rajesh Pilot Chowk to Railway Station Route 122: Gurugram Bus Stand to Sikander Pur Metro GMCBL would be following the guidelines issued by the Home Ministry. Social distancing norms will be adhered to and buses will be operating with 50% seating capacity. Buses would be sanitised prior to their running and abide by the Standard Operating Procedures. GMCBL has worked out a detailed SOP guidelines that would apply to bus drivers, CSA’s, passengers, depot staff and special measures for creating public awareness. Passenger advisory banners have been put up at four main bus stops: Iffco Chowk, Hero Honda, Gurugram Bus Stand and near Mini Secretariat up and down sides for safe travel. Based on the passenger data and feedback during phase 1 operation, the number of buses and routes as well as Time table shall be modified in 2nd week to meet the public requirement. The Phase III operation will be based on the Passenger data & feedback during the phase II operation, the number of buses and routes as well as Time table shall be modified in IIIrd week or after 10 days from the phase II to meet the public requirement.
