Delhi for the first time has closed down its borders with neighbouring states, as announced by CM Arvind Kejriwal today. Up to now it was Ghaziabad and Noida or Gurugram that had shut their borders with Delhi fearing getting back corona infected locals who travel to & fro Delhi for work.
The CM announced that borders will be closed for a week after which the situation will be reviewed. He said that Delhi hospitals were full with several patients from neighboring states and sought peoples’ feedback on this.
Only those persons that are providing or transporting essential services, banking, health & municipal services will be allowed to enter Delhi with a valid pass. Government servants will be allowed on showing their valid IDs. All cabs, autos and buses will be barred from entering the national capital.
Kejriwal has sought feedback from citizens that can be sent through WhatsApp on 8800007722 and through email on firstname.lastname@example.org, or by leaving a message by calling 1031.
