Gurugram: GMCBL CEO inspects buses ahead of likely resumption of services


Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited (GMCBL) CEO, Sonal Goel IAS on May 28, 2020 inspected Gurugaman buses to see the arrangements being done with regard to their likely resumption of service in early June after end of lockdown 4 and moving on along with COVID-19 pandemic.      

The CEO followed up checking the guidelines mentioned by the government with respect to seating and social distancing norms to be maintained inside buses. Directions were given to take extra precaution and steps to ensure safe passage of commuters. Stickers marking seats to be left vacant were relooked at and instructions given for bigger size so that it catches the eyes of the passengers easily as soon as they board the bus.

The CEO acting on the suggestion received on @gurugaman handle regarding touchless hand sanitizer to be placed on buses gave instructions for the possibilities of fixing foot operated sanitisers near the entry gates for use by passengers, thus further reinforcing their safe travel.

For contactless purchase of tickets, the CEO inquired how we could set the process soon as it was of utmost essential during this period of health crisis. She also added that smart card sale counters should be ready to open with the restart of city bus service to facilitate passengers.    

The CEO is also contemplating training of drivers and conductors on following safety standards. Lastly, instructions were given for regular sanitisation of buses along with good hygiene maintained for safe transit of travelers.
