Volunteers of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) nowadays are busy feeding the needy during the lockdown. These needy persons are migrant labourers and those who have lost their livelihood due to Covid-19.
Ram Varun, ‘Vibhag Karyavah’ of RSS said that since the last 2 months RSS has been providing rations and food to the needy all over the country. He also informed that through 85,701 centres the RSS and its affiliate Rashtriya Sewa Bharti through 4,79,949 volunteers have been working tirelessly to help the poor and needy during lockdown. At least, 1,10,55,450 ration kits, 7,11,46,500 food packets and 62,81,117 masks have been distributed by the RSS. The RSS members have also donated 39,851 units of blood to the sick.
It was also apprised that for migrant labour force through 1341 centres at least 23,65,256 persons have been fed while through 416 medical health centres 94589 migrant labourers have been provided help.
The RSS has also through 523 help centres provided help to 4,32,835 migrant workers.
Ram Varun further said that RSS volunteers adapt themselves to the situation while giving help to the needy in the country and believe in the motto “Nar Seva, Narayan Seva”. He said that such help will continue in future also.
