Ghaziabad: GNN feeds the poor, helps Fire Dept. to sanitise city

Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam (GNN) that’s has been running community kitchens since the lockdown started has been feeding the migrant workforce and stranded persons in Ghaziabad. As per the GNN it is preparing and providing as many as 7,000 food packets to such people twice in a day. Care is being taken to provide nutritious food to the needy. At least 2,500 migrant workers were also provided gur or jiggery with the food packets.

Mayor Asha Sharma and Municipal Commissioner, Dinesh Chandra Singh today provided gur to 1,200 persons at Ramleela Ground on GT Road. As per the GNN sources eating gur gives energy and also helps to maintain bodily heat. The Mayor also visited community kitchen at Nehru Nagar.

Meanwhile, at least 31 areas were sanitized today in Ghaziabad by Fire Department that is being assisted by Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam (GNN) that is supplying the sanitizing solution to the department. Today all main markets and sabji mandis of the city were sanitized besides a number of banks, public offices were also sanitized.
