Delhi: Buses to carry 20 passengers; autos, e-ricks one each, as public transport re-opens


All passengers boarding the city buses will be screened first while the Transport Department will ensure social distancing. Cab aggregators will not be allowed to carpool as of now. Metro services will remain suspended, while schools, colleges, malls will be closed. Restaurants can start home delivery of food but no dining will be allowed. No commercial activity will be allowed in containment area. Private offices can also open with full strength, however work from home should be encouraged, said the CM

Delhi will re-open in lockdown 4 cautiously, with the movement of people prohibited between 7 pm and 7 am except regarding essential services, said CM Arvind Kejriwal. For now barber shops, spas will be closed however public transport is allowed to re-open. Cabs and taxis can now ply with 2 passengers in addition to the driver, while autos and e-rickshaws can ply with one passenger each and so can manual rickshaws. Buses will also chug on with 20 passengers on board in one go while RTVs can carry 11 passengers. Private cars can travel with 2 passengers without pass. Gramin and fat-fat seva shall not ferry more than two passengers.
