Gurugram: GMCBL helps repatriated citizens help reach quarantine locations from airport


In yet another initiative to help citizens, Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited (GMCBL) as part of the Vande Bharat Mission has been helping in transporting repatriated passengers/travellers arriving at the Indira Gandhi International Airport to quarantine locations in Gurugram. The Vande Bharat Mission is the massive repatriation operation planned by the Indian Government to bring back stranded Indians in different parts of the world in the wake of the Coronavirus crisis. GMCBL Gurugaman buses are being used for this mission since May 9, 2020 to welcome back Indian nationals and transporting the passengers/ travellers returning back to India. These are the nationals who were stuck in countries abroad during COVID-19 lockdown period and are being welcomed back to their homeland. More than 15 Gurugaman buses have been engaged so far in carrying these passengers from Indira Gandhi International Airport as per the directions of the District Administration and taking them to various quarantine locations in Gurugram. The nationals have been returning from Dhaka, Uzbekistan, Riyadh, Dubai, Wahington DC and other places, and being safely transported on Gurugaman buses by following social distancing and COVID-19 protocols to the quarantine locations in Gurugram.
