Ghaziabad: Hand sanitiser bottles given to ‘frontline’ GNN staff


Sanitation employees of Vasundhara zone of Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam (GNN) were given 500 ml bottles of high-grade sanitizer (80% alcohol volume) for their own safety while discharging their duty of sanitizing and cleaning the city. The hand sanitizer was recently purchased by the GNN from Radico Khaitan, Rampur at lower rates than existing market rates for the same quality, it was informed by Municipal Commissioner, Dinesh Chandra Singh.

The sanitizer bottles were handed over by Zonal Sanitary Officer (Trans-Hindon Areas), Dinesh Kumar Agrawal and Sanitary Inspector, Yogendra Yadav. In addition, gloves and masks were also provided to at least 102 drivers of the GNN’s Vasundhara Zone.

The hand sanitizer is effective against infections found in glass, platic and other surfaces that the GNN employees could be exposed to.

Meanwhile, at least 100 hand sanitizer bottles were also directed to be provided to employees—drivers and others—of the GNN’s Streetlight Department through XEN Manoj Prabhat, informed the Municipal Commissioner. reporter
