Delhi cops arrest person disposing of stolen mobile phones; 143 mobiles recovered

Special Staff, East District on a tip off has arrested a receiver of stolen/ snatched/robbed mobile phones and recovered 143 such mobile phones at his instance. The arrested accused is Nizam Sheikh, 25 years, r/o Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. He was allegedly disposing of such mobile phones to different areas including Mathura, Kosi, Bharatpur, Alwar, Nuh and Mewat.

On sustained interrogation, he revealed that he started driving autos at Loni Border during which he came in contact with several criminals and came to know about the stolen mobile phones being disposed off at a huge margin. He then came in contact with one resident of Hapur, Uttar Pradesh who use to purchase such mobile phones and dispose them of in Rajasthan and West Bengal. He joined him and started assisting him in this offence. He soon got well acquainted with several criminals who were committing street crime and pick pocketing. He then started at his own and got to know some more parties who could purchase such mobile phones

He used to purchase mobile phones from several criminals who were committing street crime and pick pocketing. Once he used to purchase around 100-150 such phones, he used to dispose them of by keeping a margin. He has been committing this crime for several years.
