G’bad Nagar Nigam sanitises Covid-19 hotspots; distributes food through community kitchen


After the Covid-19 hotspots were sealed on orders of the UP Govt. yesterday midnight the Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam (GNN) today took up an intense sanitization drive in & around these areas. The senior-most staff of the GNN including City Health Officer Dr Mithilesh Kumar Singh, ZSO (THA), Dinesh Kumar Agrawal have been asked to oversee the sanitization drive, said a communication from the Municipal Commissioner office.

In addition to the hotspots the GNN is already sanitizing other parts of the city.

Several teams are also busy lifting garbage from public places, roadsides and reported areas, besides cleaning the drains.

The GNN is also serving the poor and the needy by feeding them through its community kitchen. Daily, almost 6,000 food packets each in morning and evening are being distributed through the zonal incharges of the GNN, across the city.

Municipal Commissioner has also submitted a list of 14,254 daily wagers to the DM who will be the beneficiaries of Rs 1,000, that will be transferred to their accounts after announcement of the Chief Minister. The transfer of funds will be initiated after examination by the DM.
