Amidst the corona virus health emergency crisis that has gripped the country, the team of Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited (GMCBL) is making all efforts to come to the help of the citizens and the vulnerable sections of the society in Gurugram, as per a press communication of the GMCBL.
In continuation of its drive, on March 30, 2020, the team led by CEO, Sonal Goel IAS visited two slum areas in Gurugram to distribute sanitation items and eatables amongst the dwellers. The aim was to reach out to these people to spread awareness on safe habits and safe hygiene during corona virus threat. The CEO distributed around 600 packets of sanitation items comprising bath soap, soap for washing clothes, toothbrush and paste, mask, comb, shampoo pouch, hair oil to the weaker sections of people living near Kadipur Power House in Sector 10 area and at Sector 37 D in Gurugram. Samosas were also distributed among the poor children. The drive was supported by the concessionaries of the GMCBL.
Apart from this, since the last couple of days, GMCBL buses are innovatively being used as mobile grocery shops to meet the needs of the residents staying in remote areas. On March 30th, seven GMCBL buses were engaged to provide home delivery of vegetables and fruits to residents staying in Ramprastha Society.

pandemic in positive ways, added the press communication.
