In its efforts to sanitise the city from the threat of COVID-19, Municipal Commissioner, Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam (GNN), Dinesh Chandra Singh issued a public statement that the GNN is working hard to sanitise all government offices and public places such as police stations, hospitals, media offices and others. Where the GNN has found a suspect case of corona virus it has in accordance with the guidelines laid by CMO and along with City Health Officer Dr Mithilesh Kumar. Giving examples, Dinesh Chandra Singh states that positive cases have been found in Vasundhara, Kaushambi and Raj Nagar Extension and hence sanitization work was conducted in a particular radius.
The Municipal Commissioner pointed out that although sanitisation work in each of the 100 wards is being carried out one after another, it is not possible for the GNN to sanitise the internal premises of housing societies and individual homes. However, he apprised that it is extremely easy to sanitise the homes and premises in two ways namely:
- By making a solution of water mixed with sodium hypochlorite (1%); and
- By adding 3 spoonfuls of bleaching powder in 1 litre of water
These mixtures can be used effectively for home sanitisations.
The Municipal Commissioner has further appealed to all the councilors as well as the public to support in the sanitization drive as well as to keep social distancing.
