Haryana census to begin on May 1

The first phase of census -2021 including house listing and housing census in Haryana will be conducted from May 1, 2020, to June 15, 2020, during which the National Population Register will also be updated and the second phase which includes population enumeration will be conducted from February 9, 2021, to February 28, 2021, with a revisional round from March 1 to 5, 2021.

Giving information about the same, an official spokesperson of the Haryana Census Directorate said that the five-day training program of 21 field trainers for Census-2021 has been started in Panchkula from today.

He said that the training was imparted by the Master Trainer Sucha Singh and Ravinder Kumar who will further train approximately 1,094 Enumerators/Supervisors in April 2020. He said that the training session was inaugurated by Director, Census Operations, Prema Puri, Additional Deputy Commissioner  Manita Malik, and DRO Ramphal Kataria were also present during the training session. Charge Officers were also present during this training

He said that during the training all the concepts cum definitions of House listing and Housing Census and National Population Register would be explained in detail. He said that during five days all the queries of enumerators will be solved and the training of Mobile App will also be imparted.

He said that the Census is being conducted in digital mode for the first time, where the enumerators would be capturing the data through specially designed mobile apps. The use of mobile apps for collection of data would enable faster processing and timely release of census data, he added.

He said that all the Census activities and progress would be monitored on a real-time basis through the Census Monitoring and Management System (CMMS), a portal specially designed for this purpose. Starting from scheduling of various training batches to monitoring field activities during Census 2021 and updation of NPR database and processing the pay-outs, CMMS is going to play a crucial role in Census 2021, he said.
