Dwarka South cops bust gang supplying illicit liquor sourced from Haryana to Ghaziabad bootleggers


A team of Dwarka South, Dwarka with arrest of accused persons namely Uday Kumar, resident of Uttam Nagar, Delhi, 32 years and Sukhveer Singh resident of Uttam Nagar, age 26 years, busted a syndicate involved in supply and sale of illicit liquor in the areas of Delhi and Ghaziabad, UP. Total 5,534 quarters of illicit liquor brought into Delhi from the neighbouring state of Haryana by the syndicate were seized by the police when accused persons were transporting the illicit liquor for supply the consignment to bootleggers of Ghaziabad, UP. 

To curb street crimes and to enhance the sense of security among citizens in Dwarka District, extensive patrolling covering widespread areas are being carried out round the clock by various police units.

On March 12, a team of SI Ganesh Kumar alongwith ASI Sanjay, HC Mahipal, HC Anoop, Ct. Noor Mohd and Ct. Anil were carrying out patrolling in the district for prevention of crime. At 7:50 am, during patrolling duty in the area, the staff received information from an informer regarding supply of huge quantity of illicit liquor on two cars. On this information, the patrolling staff immediately laid a trap on Sector-1, Palam Flyover main Road near Patrol Pump, Agrasen Hospital under the supervision of Inspr. Ram Niwas, SHO/Dwarka South and guidance of  Rajender Singh, ACP/Dwarka Subdivision.

On noticing the police team, the driver of the vehicles tried to flee with vehicles but was overpowered by the police staff. The team succeeded in stopping two vehicles Honda City car and Maruti SX4 bearing registration number DL-9C-9243 and DL-9CY-9583 respectively and apprehending its drivers. A case u/s 33/38/58 Delhi Excise Act was registered at P.S. Dwarka South, Delhi.

During interrogation, accused Uday Kumar and Sukhveer Singh disclosed that they have brought the illicit liquor from Haryana and was going to supply in Ghaziabad, UP.
