With arrest of two accused persons namely Shivender Kumar Shahu, r/o District Jallun, 20 yrs and Shiv Kumar, r/o Distt. Jhajjar, Haryana, 22, the staff of Dabri Police Station, Dwarka District has busted a syndicate involved in the supply of illicit liquor. Total 2,864 quarter bottles of illicit liquor brought into Delhi from the neighbouring state of Haryana by the syndicate have been seized by the police when accused persons were going to deliver the illicit liquor at some Chowk in Uttam Nagar, Delhi.
To curb street crimes and to enhance the sense of security among citizens in Dwarka District, extensive patrolling covering widespread areas are being carried out round the clock by the various police units.
On Jan. 12, a dedicated team of head constable Deepak alongwith constable Sandeep led by Inspector Hemant, SHO/Dabri under the close supervision of Bijender Singh, ACP/Dabri carried out patrolling in the area of Dabri Police Station for prevention of crime. At around 3:30 am, the patrolling staff stopped one silver colour Innova car No.DL7CG0125 near Jhanda Chowk, Sitapuri Part-I, Delhi and during checking it was found loaded with 2,864 quarter bottles in total 58 cartons of illicit liquor, that is 40 cartons of Santra Masaledar Desi, 5 Cartons of Navy Blue Whisky, 5 cartons of Premium Whisky, 5 cartons of Blue Mood Whisky and 3 cartons of Crazy Romeo. After due process, a case vide FIR No. 43/20 dated 12.01.2020 u/s 33/38 Delhi Excise Act was registered at PS Dabri and both the accused persons were arrested.
During interrogation, both accused persons disclosed that they were delivering the consignment on the direction of one illicit liquor supplier of Haryana. They further disclosed that the delivery of illicit liquor was to be done at some Chowk in Uttam Nagar, where one person would have come for the delivery. This was their second consignment and for the delivery of each consignment they were getting Rs.1,500.
