Ghaziabad: Six dairy owners fined Rs 51,000 by GMC for choking drains

In a whirlwind tour of the municipal area today Municipal Commissioner, Dinesh Chandra Singh today saw that illegal dairies near Holy Child School under City Zone were discharging cow dung into the drains and for this they had installed illegal borewells too. Upon this Singh called up Health Officer, Dr Mithilesh Kumar Singh, XEN (Water Works) Anand Tripathi and SFI Ashok Kumar and instructed them to take action against illegal dairies as per law and take further action against illegal groundwater extraction too.

Thereafter the aforementioned officers as well as City Zone Incharge, Sudhir Sharma fined 6 dairies a sum of Rs 51,000 for functioning illegally.

Each of the dairy owner was fined Rs 8,500 each. An affidavit was also taken from them stating that they would remove these dairies from residential colonies in  a month and would not choke the drains by discharge of waste matter.
