A fact finding mission entrusted to GNIDA ACEO KK Gupta had pointed to the complicity of 21 serving & retired officials in changing the land use of acquired villages of Gr Noida—now known as Noida extension—that were forcibly taken from farmers at a meagre compensation of Rs 850 per sq mts and later sold to private builders for Rs 10,000 sq mts and above during Mayawati’s tenure as the Chief Minister of UP.
Eight officials were absolved of all the charges. Now all the 21 officials had been issued notice by the Industrial Development Dept. of UP and a reply has been sought from them within a week.
The UP Government had reserved the land of 24 villages for industry measuring about 80 lakh sq mts. The draconian Land Acquisition act 1894 was used to usurp the land of farmers by the Mayawati Govt.
