Delhi: Train robber held with Rs 8.5 lakhs


A team of police station of New Delhi Railway Station, Railways unit, arrested one Sagar, a resident of Harijan basti, Sultanpuri, Delhi, 24 and recovered ill gotten money by selling stolen goods worth rupees 8.5 lakhs from his rented premises. 

The complainant namely Jaibir Sharma, son of Lakhmi Chand Sharma, resident of Pearl Enclave DC Road Jyoti Nagar Savoki Road Siliguri, WB reported that he is working in private company. On Nov. 20, he along with his family was travelling from New Jalpaigudi to New Delhi by New Jalpaigudi Exp to attend marriage in Haryana.  While the train was approaching NDRS he noticed a cut on his trolley bag and found Rs 3.5 lakhs of cash and diamond, gold jewellery stolen from the bag. On this a case under section 379 of IPC was registered at the police station of NDRS and the investigation was carried out by ASI Pramod.

ASI Parmod got a tip-off that one Sagar who is active with a gang of thieves in moving trains in the area of Delhi is present at AG Side NDRS and he is involved in the incident which took place on Nov 20. A team  raided Ajmeri Gate side area at  NDRS and apprehended Sagar. reporter
