Two drug peddlers held with Rs 6 cr worth of heroin at Mohan Garden

Cops of Mohan Garden Police Station arrested two drug peddlers with 900 gms of heroin costing around 6 crores. On the intervening night of Nov 21-22, at around 5:30 am, during area patrolling on motor cycles, cops at Poswal Chowk, near Nala Road, Vipin Garden apprehended two suspicious persons who were going on Najafgarh Road by foot. On seeing police staff, both persons tried to escape to escape but apprehended by alert police staff. On asking the reason of running away, the alleged persons failed to satisfy the police staff. During formal search of both persons, two polythenes were recovered from their possession. On checking of polythene, it was found that they were in possession of drugs.

The apprehended persons namely Rohit Jundal, resident of District-Barnala (Punjab), 31 yrs and Sarjeet Singh alias Jeetu, resident of Sangrur (Punjab), 32 yrs were served notices under NDPS Act for conducting their search from Gazetted Officer or area Magistrate but both of them refused. On checking of recovered quantity of commercial drugs by weighing machine, the total weight of drug heroin was found 900 gms. Then all the legal formalities were conducted and seized all the drug material. The cost of the recovered heroin in international market is around Rs 6 crores in Indian currency. Accordingly, a case under NDPS Act was registered at Mohan Garden PS.

Investigation of the case is under progress and efforts are being made to trace the source of supply of drugs.
