Ghaziabad: Despite notices action against illegal shops & constructions in Vasundhara yet to begin

Shops open in houses along main road in Vasundhara Sector 16 are a cause of pollution, encroachment and traffic jams, say residents

The Vasundhara office of Uttar Pradesh Avas Evam Vikas Parishad or UP Housing & Development Board has once again reiterated its commitment to take action against commercial use of houses along various sectors in Vasundhara as well as action against illegal constructions. However, yet again the Parishad officials have said that availability of police force is a determining factor in carrying out such an operation.

Superintending Engineer, Vasundhara, Circle 7, Ghaziabad,  Narsingh Prasad said that in the recent past due to high alert sounded in Uttar Pradesh due to Ayodhya judgment the police force could not be made available.

Executive Engineer Vaibhav Pandey of the same circle said that efforts are being made in earnest to crack down on illegal commercial operations and already notices have been sent. However, the officials could not give a deadline as to when a comprehensive drive would be carried out against the illegal shops and constructions.

It might be recalled that illegal shops along Sec 16 and other sectors in Vasundhara are not only increasing congestion but also are a big nuisance for nearby residents due to increased traffic and movement of people. Vasundhara residents have time & again urged the Avas Vikas to take action against such illegalities.
