Delhi: Anti-Snatching Cell nabbed main accused with firearm in attempt-to-murder case

The Anti-Snatching team of ACP/Dwarka Sub-Division along with the staff of Dwarka Police Station, Sec-23 has arrested one accused near Railway Crossing Shahabad Mohammadpur, Delhi. One loaded country made Katta .315 bore has been recovered from his possession. The arrested criminal has been identified as Shiv alias Akshay, a resident of JJ Colony Raghubir Nagar Delhi. He is 22- year-old.

On Nov 2, at about 12:30 am, one PCR call was received in Dwarka Police Station, Sector 23 that some goons have fired upon a person in Village Shahabad Mohammadpur, Delhi. The complainant Sanskar  sustained bullet injury in his thigh. He alleged that one Akshay of Raghubir Nagar, who is having a family discord with his uncle, has entered his home with two other associates and fired upon him with a country made Deshi Katta and ran away. In this regard, a case was registered.

The Anti-Snatching Team received a tip off that accused Shiv would come at Shahabad Railway Crossing, Delhi at 11 am for meeting his friend and he might carry a fire arm. The information was shared with senior officers and a team headed by SI Vivek consisting SI Madan Lal, ASI Randhawa and Ct Sajjan was formed. The team quickly made a plan and laid a trap near Railway Crossing, Shahabad Mohammadpur, Delhi. At about 10:55 am, one person who was coming from Sector 8, Metro Station on foot was identified by the informer as Shiv. As soon as the person was identified by the informer, the team quickly came into action and apprehended the accused.
