G’bad Municipal Commissioner asks Avas Vikas to pay for 65 acres land taken over at Siddhartha Vihar

As per Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam, land belonging to it was sold off to private builders by UP Avas Vikas earlier, but so far no municipal commissioner had asked the Avas Vikas to pay for the cost of land


Ghaziabad Municipal Commissioner, Dinesh Chandra Singh has written to UP Avas Vikas Parishad to immediately make a payment in lieu of 65 acres of land in Siddhartha Vihar area where the Avas Vikas has sold land belonging to Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam (GNN) to builders considering it as its own. The land comprising of Kaila, Mirzapur, Akbarpur-Behrampur belongs to the GNN it was informed by Municipal Commissioner’s office.

The said issue was pending since 2015 but no Municipal Commissioner had taken steps to ask the Avas Vikas for payment; however Dinesh Chandra Singh has taken this initiative that could earn a good amount of revenue for the GNN. The Principal Secretary, Urban Development has also been requested to expedite the matter.

Earlier, Singh had also made a submission regarding the same to Urban Development Minister Suresh Khanna who had appreciated the MC’s stand.

The Municipal Commissioner took the step after receiving several complaints from councilors (parshads) and staff members had raised the issue.
