Waste-to-energy plant accord signed by GNN and Netherlands company

In a step towards final disposal of solid waste in Ghaziabad a contract letter was today handed over to GCIND Solutions Pvt Ltd by Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam (GNN) for a waste-to-energy plant. The contract is for lease deed of land for the plant in line with the order of Principal Secretary, Urban Development Dept of Uttar Pradesh. The said agreement was executed in presence of King Willem-Alexander of the Kingdom of Netherlands and Union Minister for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences and Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Urban Development Minister of UP, Ashutosh Tandon, Principal Secretary, Manoj Kumar Singh. Queen Maxima of Netherlands also graced the occasion with her presence. Municipal Commissioner of the GNN, Dinesh Chandra Singh signed the agreement on behalf of the GNN. A booklet outlining the process to be employed by the Dutch company to turn waste into value was also released on the occasion. The process will also generate electricity for use, it was informed.
