Ghaziabad: Action soon against shops running from houses in Vasundhara, replies Avas Vikas to online complaint

Responding to a complaint filed on online IGRS portal of Uttar Pradesh Avas Vikas Parishad has said that it has been continuously taking action against shops operating from houses illegally. A complaint regarding rampant commercial activity from single-unit houses in several Vasundhara sectors was registered online. The complaint sought action against such illegal commercial activity. Executive Engineer, Atul Kumar Singh stated in his reply that the Avas Vikas will be carrying out sealing drive against shops in near future also. The letter stated that such sealing/demolition drive is carried out with support from magistrate and police force from time to time.

Several Vasundhara residents have alleged that the UP  Avas Vikas does not take decisive action against illegal shops that have resulted in severe congestion in Vasundhara colony, especially in Sector 16 and other sectors. Previously the Avas Vikas had tried to seal the illegally functional shops, however have not able to do possibly due to the powerful trader lobby bringing local politicians in their support. However, Avas Vikas can make use of a 2004 HC judgment that had ruled in its favour to get rid of all illegal commercial activity in various sectors.
