G’bad: Defaulting advt. firm pays up Rs 48 lakhs after Municipal Commissioner cracks the whip

The total amount owed up by the firm to GNN is Rs 2.84 crores and the management has promised to pay the remaining amount soon. Several other defaulting firms were also asked to cough up the amount due to GNN soon or else to face severe consequences

Municipal Commissioner, Dinesh Chandra Singh’s crackdown against defaulting advertising firms has started to pay rich dividends. These firms have crores of rupees pending as dues towards Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam (GNN). In this context Getmore, an advertising company today deposited Rs 48 lakhs through cheque in GNN account out of total pending dues of Rs 2.84 crores. The company has been issued a notice on directions of the Municipal Commissioner after which it paid up the amount today and also promised to pay up the remaining amount n the coming days failing which the firm had been warned of severe consequences.

Apart from this firm, several other firms had been issued notices by the GNN and these had been asked to shell out the dues accrued towards the GNN over a period of time and within the given deadline or else the GNN will blacklist such firms and the DM will be written to cancel the character certificate issued to owners of these firms.
