Ghaziabad: Gangapuram residents facing hardships; ask Nagar Nigam to step in

A resident pointed out that there is no proper drainage due to which roads get waterlogged and are wearing out

Around 2,000 residents of Gangapuram, Hapur Road (Ward No 56), Ghaziabad are living in dismal conditions due to lack of drainage resulting in waterlogging and muddy streets and roads. The residents are finding it difficult to move around, especially senior citizens and women. This was informed to delhincrnews.in by a citizen through an online message.

According to Gangapuram Resident Welfare Association’s B K Sharma Hanuman, despite informing the Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam (GNN) umpteen number of times the area residents are facing hardships due to the GNN’s apathetic attitude. He said that even the local councilor has not been able to do anything about the problem so far. Sharma alleged that Gangapuram residents are used as a vote bank during elections but when it comes to providing them facilities the matter take sa backseat.

Sharma alongwith several other citizens also pointed out that condition of streetlights and roads in the area is also not upto the mark. He said that soon Gangapuram residents will launch an agitation if their demands for facilities they deserve is not met by the GNN.
