Delhi: Autolifter held by outer north dist. cops; 8 two-wheelers seized

One autolifter namely Mukesh Kumar alias Manku, 22, was arrested by cops of SP Badli PS, Outer North District. At least 6 cases of auto thefts have been solved by this arrest, claimed the police. Further information about 22 more autolifting cases was also obtained.

Outer North District cops had enhanced patrolling in wake of recent auto thefts under Roko-Toko scheme of Delhi Police.

During patrolling near Machhi market, 2 cops saw a man going on foot and was pushing a scooty that was without number plate. This raised their suspicion and asked the person to stop but he tried to escape after leaving the scooty but the staff overpowered him. 

On interrogation, identity of the person was revealed as Mukesh Kumar. The scooty was found stolen from Police Station Prashant Vihar. The accused was interrogated at length and chassis of 5 bikes, chassis of one Activa scooty and 2 more Activa scooties were recovered at his instance. 

All the 08 two wheelers were stolen by the accused along with with one more associate. Out of which, 06 have been dismantled by him and sold in parts.
