Ghaziabad’s Hope NGO together with Indian Medical Association of West Ghaziabad and Ramprastha Green RWA organized a plantation drive under Elevated Road in Vaishali and Vasundhara on August 11. At least 500 trees were planted on this occasion.

Dr Asit Khanna, senior cardiologist and patron of Hope NGO said that this programme was being conducted since August 9. He said that after planting a tree one should not forget about it and nurture it further so that it can grow into a healthy tree.

A tree guard made of bamboo pieces and rope was also put up around the planted trees. The RWA of Ramprastha also supported in this endeavour. Dr Khanna said that the government should also put a stop to rampant cutting of trees in the name of development.

Maharaja Agrasen School Vasundhara, Cambridge School, Indirapuram, Childrens Academy, Pratap Vihar as well as Indraprastha Engineering College, Ghaziabad,  AKG College, 9 teachers of DU and 55 school students proactively participated in the event.
