Faridabad: Shriram Millennium School kids sensitised on environmental issues

In keeping with their commitment to the environment, The Shriram Millennium School, Faridabad organized their first edition of Shri Paryavaran Utsav 2019 – a Conclave based on the theme ‘Schools for a Better Tomorrow’, on Friday, 9th August,2019, said a press statement.

A number of eminent environmentalists spoke to the students on issues critical to the environment and spoke of solutions that can pave the way to a better future. Bikram Grewal was the keynote speaker. The children put up a performance including a Nukkad Natak to spread awareness. This was followed by a panel discussion with panelists Mr Bikram Grewal, Ms Bhavreen Kandhari, Ms. Dilpreet B. Chhabra and Ms. Shalini Chablani.  The conclave was moderated by Ms. Neha Sinha.

The event also saw students coming together to participate in slogan writing and banner making competitions based on environmental themes. All the participants took part in a silent Green March and took a pledge to work together to build a community of citizens who are sensitive to the needs of the environment and aware of their responsibility towards it.

Uttara Singh, Director, The Shriram Millennium Schools said, “Our mission at The Shriram Millennium School is to enable our children to be sensitive and aware individuals who contribute positively to world that we inhabit. The Shri Paryavaran Utsav aims to develop the quality of giving back to the planet as we believe that the time for this is Now! There is no planet B and we have to act Now!”

The Shriram Millennium School’s commitment to the environment manifests itself in the school’s detailed Environment Programme that is aimed at inculcating a sensitivity to the environment in its children along with engendering change on environment and implementing solutions and actions in the ‘here and now.’
