Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited (GMCBL) organised a Smart Card Distribution Camp in collaboration with Manesar Industries Welfare Association at MIWA office in Manesar on Friday, July 12, 2019. To encourage large number of people, mostly factory workers, to start using economical public transport service provided by the government, and avail discounts on every ride, GMCBL approached the industry workers near their work areas and set up its first Smart Card distribution camp at Manesar.
The camp witnessed good response from factory owners and employees from Sigma, Sunrays, Maxim SMT Technology, and other companies, who were interested in adapting an easy way to commute for work. The interface with workers brought home the point that people are ready to adapt to change their lifestyle, and the way they commute is one big aspect of it. Everyone who is travelling is looking for a safe, convenient, economical, environment-friendly and reliable mode of public transport service.
Gurugaman Smart Cards are digital cards and factory workers were keen to possess the Gurugaman Smart Transit Card to save Rs. 2 on every journey. Through one card, multiple tickets can be purchased. And they were happy that one card would serve the travelling needs of the whole family. To those who were inquiring about Gurugaman service, GMCBL staff apprised them that a Gurugaman service to Manesar is fully functional. Gurugaman bus service runs at a duration of 15 minutes, and serves the needs of office goers and factory workers. Gurugaman is the only bus service that goes inside IMT Manesar to the Industrial Area with stoppages at Naharpur, Banskushla, Maruti Circle, Aliyar Bans Chowk, Maruti Gate No. 2 & 4, etc.
Around 1,75,000 people come to work in Manesar from NCR. Furthermore, people are boarding Gurugaman buses to work and the smart card purchase can be done easily with an initial cost of Rs. 50. The card can be purchased or recharged at Smart Card Purchase Points set up by GMCBL at several major bus stops. These purchase centres are at: Huda City Centre stop, Iffco Chowk, Dundahera, Gurugram Bus Stand, Krishna Chowk and Lft. Atul Kataria Chowk. The card can be recharged for a mere Rs. 30. Travellers can boost their cards up to a value of Rs. 1,500. But, these cards are not replaceable. GMCBL is all geared up to touch the 500 and more industries connected with MIWA, by setting up camps at a number of manufacturing and industrial junctures in the coming days, to let industry workers and office goers travel in comfort and do savings every day through the use of Gurugaman Smart Cards.
