Ghaziabad: Municipal Comm. gets angry over improper execution of work

Dinesh Chandra Singh was today taking stock of cleaning of roads, green belts and drains in Kavi, City and Mohan Nagar zones, where he found that several things were not in order

Municipal Commissioner, Dinesh Chandra Singh today visited several municipal zones and expressed displeasure at the lackadaisical attitude of the officials and the staff to clean the city and sought explanation for such negligent behaviour.

At Kavi Nagar Zone heaps of garbage were found alongside the RDC road and in the green belts by vendors and hawkers upon which the area sanitation inspector Narendra Kumar was severely reprimanded. Singh asked him to issue notices to the litter-mongers and to levy penalty accordingly.

In City Zone area while inspecting Meerut t-point, Raj Nagar Extension Intersection and Hapur Road it was found that the Kanwad Yatra Marg was not clean and hence directed the City Health Officer and sanitary staff to get it cleaned.

The Municipal Commissioner was especially aghast that despite repeated reminders vertical gardening on Hindon Bridge had not been carried out and he reprimanded Horticulture supervisor Ajay Kumar and civil engineer to get it done. He directed these officials to get the vertical gardening done in 2 days and to submit an explanation for the same through Chief Engineer and Horticulture Incharge.

At Mohan Nagar Zone it was found that work pertaining to a drain being carried out by Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) near Rajendra Nagar Metro Station was not complete and a disaster was waiting to happen. Singh directed the Chief Engineer Moinuddin to talk to the GDA and to get the pending work completed soon.

At Shaheed Nagar cleaning work of the Shaheed Nagar drain was found upto the mark upon which the Municipal Commissioner praised the sanitary inspector and the zonal sanitary incharge.

Again at Mohan Nagar Zone only it was found that cleaning work of silt as well as litter was done in the area of Kavita Tyagi, sanitary inspector and plastic litter was lying in the area.  She was issued a show-cause to be answered in 2 days or else stern action would be recommended against her.

At several places it was found that after drain claning silt wa not lifted. This led the Municipal Commissioner to once again talk to the SFIs and other zonal staff to get the silt removed after drain cleaning.

Dinesh Chandra Singh also passed instructions to staff to prepare for Kanwad season ahead and leave no stone unturned.
