Delhi Police Special Cell rounds up 2 gangsters

Members of notorious Naveen Khati Gang, namely Govind, 26 and Darvesh alias Bunty were held by the cops. Two automatic pistols and nine country made pistols with twelve live cartridges were recovered

A team of South-Western Range of Special Cell, led by Inspectors Atul Tyagi and Dalip Kumar arrested 2 active members of notorious Naveen Khati Gang. The arrested accused are Govind, 26, r/o Issapur, Delhi and Darvesh alias Bunty, 27, r/o Narela, Delhi. Two automatic pistols and nine country made pistols with twelve live cartridges were recovered from accused persons.

In the months of May/June, 2019, several cases were reported wherein criminals had wantonly used firearms in commission of crimes in Delhi, the Special Cell was tasked to apprehend active criminals and also the suppliers of illegal weapons to these criminal gangs and their members. Accordingly, both technical and human surveillance was mounted to trace and apprehend such weapon suppliers of Delhi/NCR.  On June 17, on a tip-off, a raid was conducted and the 2 criminals were apprehended by the police team from the Red Light near Dwarka Sector-9 Metro Station, Delhi, while they were in possession of the recovered two semi-automatic pistols, nine country made pistols and 12 live cartridges.    

The accused Govind, a native of Issapur, Delhi, is a school dropout and was roped in the Naveen Khati Gang by his village-mate Akshay Dagar. He used to procure illegal arms & ammunition from various places of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh and supplied the same to the members of his own gang as well as to other criminals of Delhi/NCR. The other accused Darvesh, a native of Village Bankner, Delhi, left studies at an early age and became a drug addict. He was also roped in the Naveen Khati gang by Akshay Dagar. He is an active accomplice of Govind in the trade of firearms peddling.
