Delhi: Two Thak-Thak thieves held from Connaught Place area

Delhi Police have arrested two Thak Thak gang thieves namely Jabbar r/o Meerut, UP and Mohd. Furkan r/o Meerut, UP. With their arrest, the police of Sub Division Connaught Place busted a Thak-Thak Gang that was operating in theft of mobile and wallet from the slow moving cars at red lights.

In view of the recent incidents of thefts by Thak Thak Gangs and street crimes in the area, the police presence was enhanced and various teams of police personnel were formed to keep a check on such activities. A team under the supervision of Inspr. Vinod Narang, SHO/Connaught Place was deployed at Outer Circle in the area of Connaught Place

On June 14 at about 5.00 pm the above team was present at Janpath Red Light, Outer Circle, Connaught Place. When they heard someone screaming CHOR-CHOR, they immediately responded and rushed towards the place from where the screams were heard. They saw two persons running towards Sansad Marg and caught them after a brief chase.

The complainant (a person who was driving his Swift car at outer circle, near Janpath Red Light and his purse was kept at dashboard of the car) reported that the above persons (Jabbar and Mohd. Furkan) knocked his car when his car was standing at red light and after distracting him; they stole his purse from the dashboard of the car and ran away.

The accused persons Jabber and Mohd. Furkan were interrogated at length and they revealed that they hailed from Meerut, UP and came to Delhi to commit theft and snatchings. reporter
