G’bad: Builder at Atal Chowk, Vasundhara to face legal action for polluting environment

Municipal Commissioner Dinesh Chandra Singh while on a visit to Vasundhara saw the builder flouting NGT norms

Municipal Commissioner of Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam (GNN), Dinesh Chandra Singh while on a visit to Vasundhara, City & Vijay Nagar zones found several lacunae in the standard of work carried out by the GNN. For instance in Vijay Nagar area it was found that near DPS School silt extracted from a drain was not carried away despite passing of several days. The SFI of the zone was severely reprimanded by the MC for this. Similarly, at Christian Bagu Nagar it was found that the drains were choked and their dirty water was overflowing on the roads. At this, the MC asked the city health officer to issue a show cause notice to the area SFI.

On finding that construction material was being sold in the open by Bangar Cement, Tilak Building Material etc near Lilawati Public School Singh instructed the area civil engineer and Chief engineer to issue notices to and fine on violators so that orders of NGT are not violated. Similarly, Goyal Tiles & Sanitary and Aggarwal Associates at Sector 11 Vijay Nagar were asked to be issue notices and fine for littering the area with construction waste.

While visiting Vasundhara Zone it was found that at Atal Chowk a builder developing a high-rise by the name of Geetanjali Apartments had encroached upon the space and the construction material was also polluting the environment. The Municipal Commissioner directed the Vasundhara staff to issue notice to the builder and impose heavy penalty for violating the NGT order.

Dinesh Chandra Singh was also unhappy to see publicity material and hoardings defacing the Vasundhara area and asked the zonal chief, Sunil Kumar Rai to get them removed.
