Inter-state autolifters’ gang busted by Delhi Police Crime Branch; 6 vehicles recovered


In the intervening night of April 2 & 3 one tractor and 4 motorcycles were reported stolen from the area of Palam. Five vehicles stolen from one particular area indicated the modus operandi of a specific gang. In view of various such incidents of autolifting in Delhi, task was assigned to STF, Crime Branch, Sun Light Colony to develop information on active Gangs of autolifters and bust them.   

The team zeroed in on the movement of thieves and through their sources developed information about the gangs activity in Delhi & NCR. The STF, Crime Branch developed specific inputs regarding the gang  involved in the theft of one tractor and 4 motorcycle in a single night. 

To bust the whole gang sources were deployed and surveillance was kept on autolifters by a dedicated team of STF, Crime Branch, consisting of SI Rajeev Bamal, SIAshok Kumar, ASI Vijay Kumar, ASI Vir Singh, ASI Kuldeep, ASI Tek Chand, HCVijay Kumar and Ct. Payar Singh, under the leadership of Insp Digvijay Singh, supervision of Sh. Pankaj Singh, ACP/ Crime Branch and overall supervision of Dr. G. Ram Gopal Naik, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, Delhi

On April 8, the team apprehended 5 thieves Rashid, Majlis, Zuber, Afjal and Wahid along with 2 stolen motorcycles while they were entering in Delhi through Karni Singh Shooting range road to commit theft in the area.  Fake number plates were stuck on both motorcycles. Both recovered motorcycles Discover Bajaj and Royal Infield were found stolen from the area of Tilak Nagar PS. All the accused were arrested in this case. Later, during investigation, 4 more stolen motor cycles were also recovered at their instance. Two master keys used to open the lock of motor cycle and tractor were also recovered from the possession of the accused Rashid who is the gang leader.
