G’bad Municipal Commissioner bats for using latest technique for converting waste

Municipal Commissioner of Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam (GNN), Dinesh Chandra Singh yesterday inspected compost plant of the GNN along with senior officials namely AMC Pramod Kumar and nodal officer (SBM) Arun Kumar Mishra.

Firstly, the MC inspected the organic compost plant at Mohan Nagar Zone where at least 30,000 litres of liquid compost had been prepared from wet waste. The MC instructed that this compost be used to irrigate parks maintained by the GNN. He also asked the officials to talk to villagers living in vicinity and to encourage them to use organic compost in horticultural works. It was also found that proper segregation of the waste at the plant was not being done for which he reprimanded the area sanitation inspector. Dinesh Chandra Singh also ordered that latest machine/(s) should be purchased for proper disposal of solid waste. He also asked the officials that any green fodder be sent to Nandi Park for consumption by cattle kept there.

The MC also visited the compost processing plant at Sanjay Nagar Sec 23.
