Pulwama terror strike on CRPF convoy and its aftermath has moved the first lady officer of CISF, Dr Alaka Nanda (Dash) to join active politics. Dr Alaka, who had opted for voluntary retirement from central government service to dedicate her time for literature and vedic mantra science research has decided to return to public life once again- to contribute further towards the cause of national security and integrity, she told delhincrnews.in.
Dr Alaka says that the government needs to take concrete policy decision about Jammu & Kashmir and retrieve the POK & Akshaichin areas of J&K from Pakistan and China.
Dr Alaka also feels that Central Govt should declare POK and Akshaichin as Two New Union Territories of India and set up elected govt–in- exile for these two occupied territories at Dharamshala, the way Dalai Lama has set up his Tibetan- Govt-in Exile in India at Dharamshala of Himachal Pradesh.
That will help Kashmiri Pundits and refugees to express their political- economic views and pave way for getting back those territories from foreign occupation.
Dr Alaka also feels that neither state governments nor the central government is giving due compensation to the martyrs’ families despite their ultimate sacrifice.
Dr Alaka demands that government must immediately give jobs to next of kin of the martyrs and 5 acres of land to each serving/ retired/ martyred member of central paramilitary forces/ defence services as per central government circular which is not yet implemented by many state governments including UTs & Odisha.
Dr Alaka had joined CISF as its first lady officer in 1989 after clearing prestigious civil services exam conducted by UPSC. Dr Alaka is Founder Chairperson of Devi Foundation, a Philanthropic Organisation dedicated towards India’s Vedic and Environmental Empowerment. She is also a versatile writer who writes both in Odiya & English language.
