Vasundhara Zone of Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam (GNN) has created a record of sorts by so far making a property tax collection of Rs 44 crores, said senior tax official Jhamman Singh. He also informed that the targeted tax collection is around Rs 60 crores for the financial year. This collection covers whole area of Vasundhara, Vaishali, Kaushambi, Link Road colonies bordering Delhi as well as several colonies of Indirapuram and areas falling under Site 4, Sahibabad.

Tax collection has been a contentious issue in Ghaziabad where big defaulters have often procrastinated but the GNN is now in no mood to give these a reprieve like in previous years, especially due to rising burden of providing civic amenities to an ever-growing population.
