A police party of Kirti Nagar Police Station arrested a notorious thief nicknamed Spiderman. With his arrest 6 cases of theft have been worked out.
During the last few days many theft incidents were reported during the night hours in the area of Mansarovar Garden, Kirti Nagar, New Delhi. The investigation into these cases revealed, one person was found scaling up to the first floor or second floor of the house and entering the house through balconies or open verandah. He would decamp with cash and jewellery items, which he could carry easily in his pocket. One interesting fact which has emerged that he would generally wear a red shirt or a red jersey while committing the crime and he was also wearing a red jersey when he was arrested today.
Keeping in view the increase in such incidents, a team under supervision of Inspector Vijay Kumar Singh, SHO/Kirti Nagar, comprising SI Suresh Chand, ASI Naresh Pal, ASI Narender, ASI Bhupender & HC Vinod Kumar, was constituted. As an immediate measure, a trap was laid. Finally, the team was able to single out one criminal namely Ravi alias Pappy who was finally apprehended on March 5 from near Pacific Mall, Tilak Nagar. He admitted to have committed more than 6 cases of house-thefts in the area of Mansarovar Garden, Kirti Nagar,Delhi. Efforts are on to recover the case properties.
On interrogation, he disclosed that he used to operate in the wee hours when the police patrolling team generally return to the police station. He was previously involved in 7 cases of thefts.
