Paytm today announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Noida Traffic Police to enable digital challan payments on its platform. With this partnership, traffic rule violators across Noida would be able to make e-challan payments on their behalf using the Paytm web and mobile app.
This comes as a big relief for both Paytm customers as well as the respective authorities. It will help save considerable time and effort of users who otherwise have to travel to the designated traffic department centres for their challan payment. On the other hand, it will also help free traffic department’s resources from challan collection activities. Moreover, it will generate greater visibility of challan collections and help the traffic department in streamlining their processes.
Kiran Vasireddy, COO Paytm said, “Our digital traffic challan payment feature has received positive reception from our customers since its launch back in 2017. We have successfully processed more than 2 million transactions for all listed traffic bodies till date. The tie-up with Noida traffic department in particular have marked our foray into the Delhi NCR and have added considerable impetus to the initiative. We would like to thank the traffic department for extending this service in their region.”
Paytm’s traffic challan feature is currently live in 5 states including Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and West Bengal. The tie-up has now added Uttar Pradesh, to the kitty and increased the figure to 6. Paytm has successfully processed 2 million challan transactions on its platform. With its latest tie-up, Paytm is aiming to process over 3 million transactions by the end of this calendar year.
