Special Cell of Delhi Police, South Western Range (SWR) cracked a murder at Narela Industrial Area, with the arrest of 4 active members of Neeraj Bawania gang namely Sunil alias Bhura, 24, Sukhwinder alias Sanju, 23, Ravinder, 34, and Arpit Chillar, 20. One juvenile was also held. The gang was busted after a high voltage drama in wee hours near Japanese Park, Rohini.
On Feb 1 an incident of day light murder took place near Mann Public School, Narelain which the 4 accused persons and the juvenile conducted recce of Vikas Chauhan, aresident of Bajitpur, Delhi who was waiting in an ECO Van outside the Mann Public School, Narela while the two arrested accused persons namely Sunil and Sukhwinder fired on Vikas and killed him.
In another incident,on January 20 this year the same group had killed one Mohit near Lohia Camp, Haidarpur, PS Shalimar Bagh,Delhi. In this case absconding accused Sonu Chidi along with his associate Sukhwinder and Nishanthad killed Mohit to take revenge of an old rivalry. The cause of these murders by gang members is related to the ongoing rivalry between Neeraj Bawania and Rajesh Bawania gang.
A team of Special Cell, SWR led by Inspector Sanjeev and Inspector Man Singh was deputed to work upon the murder incidents in the area of outer Delhi.The team worked relentlessly, deployed sources and mounted technical surveillance. The hard work of team bore fruit when on Feb 11 information about the accused was received that they would be coming to Rohini to meet some of their associates in the wee hours. On this information a trap was laid at about 4.30 am near Swarn Jayanti Park, Rohini by the team members. At about 5 am one black colour car No. DL 4C AN 8509 was seen coming from K.N. Katju Marg side.The car was signalled to stop but the car driver further accelerated and tried to run away but the police team chased and blocked that vehicle. The car driver lost control and the car rammed into the divider. Five persons equipped with weapons got down from the car. On being asked to surrender, they started indiscriminately firing at the police team. Their bullets hit bullet proof jackets of 2 cops. The police team returned fire in which 3 criminals sustained bullet injuries on their legs while Ravinder and one juvenile were arrested without any injuries.
One country made pistol along with 2 live cartridges were recovered from each of the 4 accused persons while one semi-automatic, .32 bore pistol with three live cartridges was recovered from the juvenile.
