G’bad: 3 notorious thieves held from Indirapuram; huge cash & stolen goods worth Rs 15 lakhs seized


Laying their hands on a prized catch, a team of cops from Indirapuram Police Station apprehended 3 notorious thieves from Kanawani Pusta area. The accused had carried out thefts at more than 100 showrooms in Delhi-NCR. The 3 are Rajveer Singh Chouhan alias Raju (24 yrs), Sanjay Arora (39 yrs) and a woman Anju (26 yrs). Rs 15 lakh cash and valuables such as laptops, clothes, 4 luxury cars (used in crime), a foreign bike as well as a scooty and other stolen items, all worth Rs 15 lakh were also seized from the accused. Equipment used to break into shops was also seized from them. This was disclosed by SP City, Shlok Kumar and SP/CO Indirapuram, Ravi Kumar.

All 3 are history-sheeters who have several cases registered against their names in police stations across Delhi & NCR.

The mastermind of the gang is one Farman who is currently lodged in Tihar Jail. The modus operandi of the gang was to first recce and identify the showroom where the theft had to be carried out. Afterwards the accused would come in night and park their vehicle in front of the showroom and would easily breaking into the showroom and decamped with the valuables. They would also take the CCTV DVR with them to avoid detection. The stolen goods were ferried in the vehicles employed for thefts. Later the accused would sell these goods online or in weekly markets.

The police team comprised SHO Nazeer Ali Khan and other cops.
