Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam (GNN) has started the process of taking user charge from flats and houses for lifting garbage and disposing it of. Vasundhara Zonal Chief Sunil Kumar Rai told delhincrnews.in that all properties including housing societies and individual houses have been asked to pay the amount that comes to minimum Rs 50 per flat/user however for larger houses/apartments it could be Rs 100 or more.
Since the GNN started this drive, in Vasundhara Zone alone it can get good revenue from several housing societies of Vsundhara, Vaishali, Kaushambi and Indirapuram.
Sunil Kumar Rai said that several societies are cooperating with the GNN’s efforts to dispose of their garbage. But several societies are in a limbo as the user charge has been levied in retrospect. On this an official of the GNN said that this is because the GNN garbage disposal vehicles have been going around several societies since the last many months. Therefore the user charge per flat/house has been levied in retrospect.
The Zonal Chief also pointed out that the garbage collection vehicles would be reaching every society’s gates and the sanitation workers of the society would then dispose of the garbage collected from every house onto these vehicles, as of now.
He said that several RWAs are reluctant to pay the user charge for garbage disposal and added that such RWAs will be sent demand notices soon.
