Faridabad, first of the industrial townships not only in Haryana, but also in NCR too, once used to be the favorite destination for all the industrial activities. However, due to political ambitions of different Chief Ministers and state governments, the city attained the status of the most ignored industrial towns. However, with the initiatives announced by the Chief Minister, Manohar Lal in the Shankhnad Rally held at Faridabad on Sunday December 30, the city is going to regain its lost pride and beauty.

Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal said that the past importance and  stature of Faridabad Industrial Town is being restored and works on different projects worth Rs 700 crores would start from next month. The opposition may look it into the backdrop of 2019 general elections but as far as the CM is concerned, he has a track record of fulfilling his promises.

The rally was organised by Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister, Vipul Goel in which, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of modernisation and beautification of Raja Nahar Singh Cricket Stadium at a cost of Rs 115 crores. Raja Nahar Singh Stadium used to be a venue for first class matches and a few of international matches too. However, during the Congress regime different factions of the party remained adamant on their stand for which the cost has to be borne by the stadium that remains deserted and ignorant state.  Renovation and beautification of the stadium may lead to Faridabad again being shown in the international map of sporting activities.

On the occasion, Manohar Lal also announced Rs 50 crores for development of Faridabad assembly constituency, Rs 47 crores for multi storey parking at Sector 12 and swimming pool at sports stadium and laying of metro line between Faridabad and Gurugram. Sector -12 multi level parking has been a long outstanding demand as the sector is a center of activities with Mini Secretariat, Courts, and Estate Office etc. Recently the office of GST, earlier known as Sales tax office has also been shifted in its new building at Sector-12, further increasing the gap for available parking space in the area. Due to absence of adequate parking space all the roads in the sector are occupied by the vehicles parked leaving no space for movement of vehicles. Hence, this announcement will certainly been a boon for the city and would also help in enhancing the beauty of the city with proper landscaping being explored.
