The sealing drive carried out by Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) against shops being run illegally from housing colonies has been temporary put on hold after scores of traders met the Urban Dev. Minister of UP, Suresh Kumar Khanna, MLA Sunil Sharma and GDA VC after which sealing was put off till Nov. 30 subject to conditions. Now the traders would have to submit an affidavit that they would not keep their wares outside the red strip beyond which no commercial activity would be allowed. Also, polluting units such as welding, paint workshops etc would not be allowed to function anymore from such houses cum shops.
However, as the business activity is illegal many house owners are already issuing evicting orders to their tenants, it is learnt.
